The beginning

It begins when it seems you have had enough.

I know that I am not alone in my feelings. There are many others who feel the way that I do. We’re the ones who have worked for years, some with great success, others with a modicum of it, but comfortable. We’ve married the love of our life, gone through the ups and downs of life, raised children, buried parents, friends, and pets. We’ve been living each day with a measure of gratitude and thoughtfulness; thankful for the blessings which have been bestowed. Yes, we’ve been through the celebrations and joy of winning sports events, concerts that were in-tune, and academic accolades. We’ve been through the sorrow, doubt, uncertainty and pain of Cancer and come out on the other side. Yes, we’ve lived, entirely as we should. And yet, it isn’t that it is NOT enough. It has definitely been enough.

It has been enough to work hard, move up and forward in our organizations, solve problems and bring high quality products for others. The few moments you’ve had on an occasional weekend or short vacation break have brought glimpses into the other portion of life that you wish could be visible more. That’s where you are today. You’ve done enough for others. You’ve done enough for career, work, organizations. You’ve done enough for the work that you’re still good at, but doesn’t bring you joy any longer; the passion is no more. Yes, it’s been enough.

So now, you’re going to take the time that you want and need to do…hmmm, yes what will you do? The vision isn’t fully clear, but you can feel it just beyond your immediate extended touch. You can tell that it is so close and you’re ready to move your entire being toward it and instead of turning away. Now is your time to renew your purpose, your reason for why you smile each morning and throughout your day. You are ready to embrace your joy and allow it to fill you completely rather than shutting it down and dimming your brilliant light.

So, when it has truly been enough, it’s time to begin. For me…that time is now. I’m hoping you will want to join me in this journey. Won’t you?
